Drama as Kidero runs into hostile youth in Kayole – PHOTOS

Nairobi governor Evans Kidero ran into a crowd of rowdy youth in Kayole on Tuesday where he had gone to inspect projects of the county government.

The residents blocked Dr Kidero’s entourage at the Soweto-Riverbank road to complain of the poor state of the roads in the area.

They waived placards and chanted “no road, no peace”.

They also complained of lack of essential services like water.

“”I can see that “no road, no peace” message has reached me and I assure you that the contractor is on site,”said Dr Kidero.

The governor said that he had set aside Sh600 million to complete a total of 9.4 kilometres of roads in Embakasi East constituency. He claimed that so far six kilometres of road had been done.

NOT WELL RECEIVED

The message was not well received by the residents who openly asked him to show the roads he was talking about.

The governor quickly changed tack and told those not satisfied with what he was saying to bring their complaints to his office

The governor blamed his opponents in Jubilee party for using his tribe to fight him, saying he is willing to change his name to Kariuki if that would win him the votes in Nairobi.

“I have asked you if I should change my name to Kariuki but you have maintained that my development record is  enough for you to vote for me,”said Dr Kidero.

The governor toured Embakasi, KCC Village, Mowlem Health Centre and Njiru Health Centre.
