Drama queen Joyce Akinyi released on Sh500,000 bond
Controversial businesswoman Joyce Akinyi will appear in court on Tuesday to plead to drug trafficking related charges.
A Kibera court on Monday released Ms Akinyi on a Sh500,000 bond and ordered her to present herself in court on Tuesday.
The prosecution had opposed the bond request but the court rejected the application, saying it was not warranted.
Ms Akinyi spent the weekend at Muthaiga police cells to await a report confirming whether a substance she was found with was narcotics.
Last week, the court allowed an application by police to detain her for three days because analysis of the substance had not been done.
