Egerton University terror suspect out on Sh 700K bond
A Egerton University student who was charged 10 days ago with transmitting terror messages through his Facebook page was Monday morning released on a Sh700,000 bond by a Nakuru court.
Resident magistrate Felix Kombo also barred the accused, Robert Mungai alias Robert Mohamed Blues from travelling outside Nakuru County and to be reporting at CID offices once a week.
The accused had been charged with posting the terror messages on his Facebook account on April 4 this year from an unknown location in the country.
The court was told that the accused posted the terror messages to the effect that the Al Shabaab attacks at Garissa University was nothing compared with what was going to happen at Egerton University.
The accused, who has refuted claims that he was an Egerton University student, has denied the charge.
The case will come up for hearing on June 15 this year.
