Elon Musk’s latest Twitter Blue perk: 2 hour video upload

Twitter CEO Elon Musk has announced that verified Twitter Blue subscribers can now upload two hours of videos on the platform, adding it to the existing privileges the users enjoy.

Announcing the news on the bird app, the technology guru shared that the lot will be able to upload 8GB worth of files on the platform.

To be part of the team, Musk had previously shared that you will have to pay a monthly subscription of $8 (Sh1,082) for the blue badge or an annual fee of $84 (Sh11,369).

Twitter Blue is an opt-in, paid subscription that adds a blue checkmark to your account and offers early access to select features, like Edit Tweet with the application giving the user a 30-minute window to make a limited number of changes to published Tweets.

All Twitter Blue features will be available immediately except the blue checkmark, which will appear on eligible profiles after a review to ensure subscribed accounts meet all eligibility criteria.

Apart from editing tweets and now uploading videos, Musk shared that the user will see approximately 50% fewer ads in the For You and Following timelines, prioritized rankings in conversations and search with them being able to tweet up to 10,000 characters than the normal 280 characters.

Further, Twitter Blue users can bold and italicize their texts, have an unlimited number of bookmarks and folders which are always private, plus have custom app icons that can change the display of the Twitter app icon on your phone.

“A user is also able to custom navigate, have a Twitter spaces tab, top articles shortcut to the most shared articles in their network, and the ability to turn long threads into a more beautiful reading experience.”

Subscribers of Twitter Blue are also able to access two-factor authentication via SMS with this feature adding another layer of protection to their account.
