Ex-Barcelona captain Sergio Busquets and his family on holiday in Kenya


Former FC Barcelona captain Sergio Busquets is holidaying in Kenya with his family. According to Sports Brief, a website that focuses on matters sports, the former Spanish international midfielder was spotted mingling and taking photos with locals at the world famous Maasai Mara National Reserve.

“Immediate former Barcelona captain Sergio Busquets has flown to Kenya for his post-season holidays,” Sports Brief reported.

Busquets is married to Elena Galera with whom he has two sons – Enzo Busquets and Levi Busquets.

The former captain left Barcelona at the end of the season after the Spanish giants won their 27th La Liga title. Busquets is yet to announce his next move after leaving Barcelona.

However, according to football pundits Busquets has received several offers including from clubs in Saudi Arabia but he is yet to make a decision.

“There have also been reports linking him with a possible reunion with Lionel Messi, who is expected to move to Major League Soccer’s Inter Miami,” Sports Brief reported.

Busquets played for the Blaugrana his whole life and won nine La Liga titles, three Uefa Champions League titles and seven Copa del Rey titles.

He was also part of the Spanish national team that won the Fifa World Cup in 2010 and Uefa European Championships 2012.

Busquets is among several global athlete who have visited Kenya recently, including NBA legend and former Dallas Mavericks superstar Dirk Nowitzki who visited Kenya with his family last month.

In January, former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor visited Kenya on an ambassadorial work for a betting firm. During his stay in the country, Adebayor also attended a Kenya Premier League football between Tusker FC and Talanta FC at Ruaraka Grounds in Nairobi.

Galatasaray’s Argentine striker Mauro Icardi also holidayed in Kenya after winning the French Ligue 1 title with Paris Saint-Germain.
