Ex-Prison boss Isaiah Osugo to be laid to rest this week
Former Commissioner General of Kenya Prisons Services Mr. Isaiah Osugo, who died while on retirement, will be buried this week.
Nairobi News has established that Mr. Osugo, who passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023, will be on Friday, 20, 2023 be buried at his home in Nyaboterere village, Nyangusu Sub-Location in Bobasi, Kisii County.

The family also revealed that the ex-prison boss was suffering from cancer and died while receiving treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.
“He died on Monday, January 9, 2023, after a brave fight with cancer,” an obituary seen by this reporter read in part.
The family plans to hold a memorial service for the late on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at the Nairobi Central Seventh Day Adventist Church in Nairobi.
Equally, the family will hold a fundraiser from 5 pm on Tuesday at the 680 hotel.
“Contributions can also be sent to Paybill 8103174 (Isaya Osugo Fundraising) with your name as the account number,” the family said.

The body of the 67-year-old is at Lee Funeral Home, and it will be picked up from the morgue on Thursday, January 19, 2023.
It will then be taken to his home in Nyaboterere village, where a night vigil will be conducted before he is buried on the following day.
The family spokesperson Boniface Kangere said that Mr. Osugo died while receiving treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.
The deceased had been at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for one week.
Mr. Osugo served as the prison’s boss between 2008 and 2019.
Before his stint at the helm of prison administration, Osugo served as the Nairobi Provincial Criminal Investigations Officer.
