Exclusive: Bunge la Mwananchi president anoints himself the next Lang’ata MP
Bunge la Mwananchi president, Calvince Okoth aka Gaucho, has intensified his quest to unseat the besieged Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor aka Jalang’o.
Gaucho, who spoke exclusively to Nairobi News, said come 2027, he will surely beat Jalang’o in the parliamentary contest.
“I will be the next Lang’ata MP. Currently, I am the acting Lang’ata MP,” Gaucho told Nairobi News.
His remarks come in the wake of Jalang’o’s fallout with ODM party leader Raila Odinga, amid speculations that the opposition leader could be grooming Gaucho to replace the former radio presenter in the next General Election.
Gaucho also said Jalang’o received so much support from Mr Odinga during his campaigns only for him to betray the Azimio la Umoja leader after he won the seat.

“If it were not for Raila, Jalang’o would have not won the seat he is currently occupying. He has quickly forgotten that it is Raila who held his hand,” Gaucho said.
However, he advised Jalang’o to enjoy his first term in the National Assembly in the full knowledge that he will not make it back to Parliament in 2027.
“Come 2027, you can be sure Jalang’o will be packing his belongings very early in the morning,” he said.

There has been a simmering political feud between Jalang’o and Gaucho ever since the lawmaker started warming up to President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government.
But it is only last month that Gaucho, a fiery upcoming politician, first hinted that he he is eying a higher political seat.
Although at first Gaucho was non-committal as to whether he would run against Jalang’o in 2027, he made it clear that he is above the Member of County Assembly (MCA) seat.
“Let me just say that I am not sure. What I know is that I will be on the ballot in 2027,” he told Nairobi News then.
Meanwhile, Jalang’o has recently found himself increasingly isolated and frequently targeted by party loyalists for his move to embrace President Ruto.
