EXCLUSIVE: Gaucho – I want Uhuru to buy me a house, not an expensive car
Bunge la Mwananchi President Calvince Okoth alias Gaucho has said, given a chance, he would ask retired President Uhuru Kenyatta to buy him a house.
Speaking Exclusively to Nairobi News, Gaucho said he is not interested in driving an expensive car, yet he has no house.
“I am to meet Uhuru in the course of next week and my number one priority is a house. I cannot accept a big car yet I don’t have a house of my own. Where will I even pack the car? So I will tell Uhuru I want a house,” he told Nairobi News.
The vocal young aspiring politician said he is tired of paying rent and just wishes to have a four-bedroom house in the outskirts of Nairobi.
“I would love to live in a four-bedroom house along Mombasa Road. A cool neighborhood,” he said.
During the recently held Jubilee Party National Delegates Convention at Ngong Racecourse, Mr Kenyatta, who is the party leader, promised to buy Gaucho ‘lunch’ for standing with him, a remark which drew great interest from the online community.
But just a few days after the Jubilee NDC, Gaucho was early this week arrested and held in police custody for 24 hours.
He was only set free after Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya Coalitions bigwigs issued an ultimatum for his release.
Gaucho, who recently said he harbours ambitions of contesting the Lang’ata parliamentary seat in 2027, has been arrested on a number of times in the last three months.
Gaucho, who is reported to have close links to Azimio leader Raila Odinga, is believed to be among the key mobilisers of the recent anti-government protests.
