Exclusive: Gaucho – Lessons I’ve learnt from my arrests
Bunge la Mwananchi President Calvince Okoth aka Gaucho has shared the lessons he has learnt from his recent arrests.
Speaking exclusively to Nairobi News, Gaucho said he will keep speaking the truth to the authority no matter the situation.
He said the current government is determined to silence critics, even as the so called hustlers, who elected President William Ruto, continue suffering.
“The biggest lesson I have learnt so far from all these arrests is that the government wants people to suffer in silence. They don’t like it when one speaks the truth. But I will continue speaking on behalf of the jobless and suffering youths,” Gaucho said.

He said the high cost of living and the proposed taxes in the Final Bill 2023 will make life even more harder for Kenyans.
“The reason why I remain vocal is because I represent the voiceless youths. The price of most essential commodities have gone up. That is why I stand to tell the government the truth. I will still stand for the truth. This is why I was elected as Bunge la Mwananchi president,” he said.
Gaucho, who has lately emerged as President Ruto’s harshest critic, called upon the Kenya Kwanza government to lower the cost of living rather than coming up with projects that will not benefit the mwananchi.

He has also been in the frontline during the recent Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya Coalition protests over the rising cost of living in the country.
In a recent interview with Nairobi News Gaucho revealed that he is eying the Lang’ata Parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election.
“I will be the next Lang’ata MP. Currently, I am the acting Lang’ata MP,” Gaucho said about his quest to unseat area MP Phelix Odiwuor aka Jalang’o who has since fallen with the powers that be at ODM.
In yet another interview with Nairobi News, Gaucho said despite the rumours that ODM party leader Raila Odinga is grooming him to replace the former radio presenter, he is yet to have that discussion with his party boss.
