Exclusive: Samidoh musician pals pleaded with Edday not to leave him
For Samuel Muchoki, the King of Mugithi, better known by his stage name Samidoh, the waves and squabbles surrounding his now embattled family began in 2019.
That was the year it was revealed that he was having an affair with the then-director of the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company, Ms Karen Njeri Nyamu.
Karen is now a nominated senator for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
They have two children from their very public affair.
Samidoh is married to Edday Nderitu, who is currently on holiday in the United States.

However, due to the Mugithi star’s continued infidelity, the wife is said to have sought refuge in the US with their three children.
She is staying with the singer’s cousin, Mrs Bernice Saroni.
In February 2023, Edday had threatened to end their 15-year marriage after Samidoh and Karen continued to have an affair.
Nairobi News has established that the musician’s friends tried to intervene, urging Edday not to divorce Samidoh.
“When she threatened to leave the marriage, Edday informed me that fellow artists in the gospel and secular industry begged her not to leave,” a credible source privy to the family revealed.
According to the source, who requested anonymity, Edday complained that she had had enough of the turbulence in the marriage caused by her husband’s infidelity.
“Muigai wa Njoroge advised her to stay in the marriage while they try to cool the boiling water and that if she leaves him, depression will slowly eat him up.”
It remains unknown when the woman will make a comeback.
Almost a month after Edday went abroad, little is known about her plans to return to the country.

In an exclusive interview with one of Edday’s close friends, Nairobi News found out that the musician’s wife is allegedly avoiding them.
“She has given me a blackout, unlike the way we used to talk when she was in Kenya,” the reliable source, who requested anonymity, revealed.
Edday flew to the US with her three children after a so-called holiday trip, according to a source close to the family.
About a month after her trip, her whereabouts remain a well-kept secret.
The source hinted that Edday has been advised to keep her next steps to herself.
“She has been advised to maintain silence if she wants to settle in the US and have few interactions on social media sites,” the source said.
Edday is now only seen posting her holiday photos, quoting Bible verses and the words of scholars.
“Your talent determines what you can do. Your motivation determines how much you are willing to do. Your attitude determines how well you do it,” she quoted Lou Holtz’s teachings on her official Facebook account on 15 May 2023.
On 20 May 2023, she wrote: “Anyone who has unreliable friends is soon ruined, but there is a friend who is closer than a brother – Proverbs 18:24.
