Exclusive: Televangelist Pastor Ng’ang’a sells hotel to save souls in America
Neno Evangelist Pastor James Ng’ang’a is selling his well-known property, the four-star Newstead Hotel, previously known as Sunny Hill Hotel, situated along Nakuru-Nairobi road.
The televangelist is in dire need of funds to expand his ministry in America and is selling the hotel for sh800 million, negotiable.
The hotel opened in June 2016, with several influential leaders gracing the launch.
Speaking exclusively to Nairobi News, the founder of the Neno Evangelism Centre revealed that his mission is to save lost souls. His plans to open a church in America would require Sh600 million to finance.
“That is why I am selling the hotel so that I can get enough money to finance the project,” he said.
Pastor Ng’ang’a is selling the hotel at Sh800 million, negotiable. He also mentioned that he plans to relocate with his family to the US as his wife, Mercy Murugi, gave birth there recently.
Their firstborn son was born in South Carolina. That automatically made the child an American citizen by birth.
“That is why I have been visiting America many times, is to prepare the ground. My wife is in America since she gave birth recently,” he said.
The hotel is an ideal location for outings, family get-togethers, and business conferences with a large open playground, high-class swimming pool, and ample parking space, among other features.
Ng’ang’a is known for attracting a large following in his Nairobi church. A few years back, he stated his intention to build a new city named Jerusalem City on a 50-acre piece of land he bought in Kajiado county three years ago.
“Already I have 70 children who are going to school in grades 1-4. I also give them food, uniform and shoes,” he stated.
He stated that those attending regular church services would have the privilege of trying out facilities in Jerusalem City like a hotel, shopping mall, bank, and an institution for higher learning.
