Fans fuel Ali Kiba, Diamond beef on social media

Despite confessing openly that there is still bad blood between him and Diamond Platinumz, Bongo flava star Ali Saleh Kiba, is not happy with the social media war that has been going on between his fans and those of his nemesis.

The two celebrities who were one time buddy friends have been entangled in a beef since Ali Kiba accused Diamond of chopping of his lyrics in a song that was meant to be released as a collabo between them.

For a while now there has been a war of words on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook between fans of TeamAlikiba and TeamDiamond that was sparked during the Kilimanjaro Awards a fortnight ago where Ali Kiba swept all five categories he was nominated in while his arch rival managed to walk away with one for his collabo with Professor Jay dubbed ‘Kipi Sijasikia’

Ali Kiba who had put his musical career on hold for two years before making a comeback last year, took the day home winning the ‘Best Entertainer of the Year, Best Song of the Year (Mwana), Best Bongo Flava Song Composer (Mwana), Artiste of the Year and Male artiste of the Year, 2015.’

The polite musician, who never attended the Awards ceremony as he was away in America for tour, later took to his Instagram handle to congratulate his team and fans for the massive success

“Nawashukuru media zote na wote, kwa kweli pongezi nyingi zinaenda kwa my strongest #Teamkiba you are the best #Kingkiba for life,” Ali Kiba wrote on his IG after the big win.

This came as a shock considering that Diamond had led the nominee list with a total of 10 nominations whilst Kiba only got 7 nominations and thus it sparked the war between the two different camps of these tow crème del crème entertainers of Tanzania.

MAMAs AWARDS

The war has been going on for a while and was even fueled further with Diamonds’ nomination for the upcoming MTV MAMAs’ Awards that will be held in Johannesburg, South Africa later next month.

Diamond has been nominated in three categories for the MAMAs’  ‘Best Male’, ‘Best Collaboration’ and ‘Best Live’ but his chance of winning anything have been thwarted with TeamAlikiba fan social campaign who want to ensure that Uganda’s’ socialite Zari Hassan’s’ boyfriend misses again on this one.

TeamAlikiba have been posting posts and comments urging people not to vote for Diamond, leading to counter attacks from TeamDiamond.

Speaking recently to Clouds FM after jetting back from the States, Alikiba urged his fans to stop the whole hullabaloo if they could as it was painting a bad image.

“To be honest, as much as there is still bad blood between me and Diamond but that not to say that I am happy with the social media wars between our fans.

“I am not happy at all and it’s just that there is little I can do to end this because I cannot control the social platform.

“We are both celebrities who are looked upon by the society and such things involving us aren’t healthy at all to our image. It would be cool if they can stop this and rather focus on supporting our music,” Alikiba stated.
