Farah Maalim kin in court for illegally obtaining Kenyan ID
A relative of former Deputy Speaker of National Assembly Farah Maalim was on Tuesday charged with being in the country illegally and obtaining a Kenyan national identity card by false pretense.
The accused, Ibrahim Abdi Farah, who appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate, Daniel Ogembo, was charged with three counts of illegally obtaining an ID number 32355215 in Garissa County.
In the third count, the accused was charged with the offence of being at the Kenya Defence Forces Recruitment Training School in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County illegally on May 15, this year.
The court heard that the accused was found at the training school without a valid visa, pass or permit that allows him to reside or remain in the country.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on a bond of Sh500,000. The case will be heard on 18 June this year.
