Five things you probably didn’t know about Tom Cholmondeley
The late great grandson of the Lord Delamere, Tom Cholmondeley has left behind a sh5 billion estate in Naivasha and the title of sixth Baron Delamere.
Although his life came into the limelight after being accused of shooting and killing two people, not much is known about his personal life.
Here are five things that you might have not known about Tom Cholmondeley.
1. He was married to Dr Sally Brewerton and later divorced
Mr Cholmondeley married Sally Brewerton in 1998. They had two sons together Henry and Hugh. However the two divorced in 2010.
It was later reported that he was dating jewelry designer Sally Dudmesh who was seen by his side throughout his murder case trial.
2. He schooled at the prestigious Eton College
After prep school at Pembroke House, in Gilgil Kenya, and Ashdown House School in East Sussex, he joined Eton College where the high and mighty of Britain are said to have schooled.
Eton College has educated 19 British Prime Minister and generations of the aristocracy and has been referred to as the chief nurse of England’s statesmen.
Charging up to 11,478 euros per term (there are three terms per academic year) Eton is the sixth most expensive school in the UK.
3. He had a passion for motorcycle racing
He was Kenya Novice Motocross champion in 1986 and runner up in the Kenya endure championship in 2000.
4. He was a licensed pilot
Mr Cholmondeley held a private pilot’s license since 2000 and has flown in Kenya, France, Germany, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Mozambique.
5. While at his farm he sometimes dressed as an English aristocrat
He is known for wearing a cravat while walking around his farm in Soysambu. The cravat is a neckband originating from the 17th century. It was a popular style among the noble lords.
He also had ten licensed firearms and several temporary permits for his workers.
