Football fraternity unite in wishing ailing Sir Alex Ferguson quick recovery
The global football fraternity has united in wishing former Manchester United coach Sir Alex Ferguson a quick recovery following an emergency surgery for brain hemorrhage on Saturday.
The legendary former football manager was left fighting for his life after being rushed to hospital for the emergency surgery.
According to AFP, news of his operation was made public by his old club, with a United statement cautiously optimistic about the prospects for the 76-year-old, the most successful manager in British football history.
“Sir Alex Ferguson has undergone emergency surgery today for a brain haemorrhage. The procedure has gone very well but he needs a period of intensive care to optimise his recovery. His family request privacy in this matter,” the statement said.

“We will keep Sir Alex and his loved ones in our thoughts during this time, and we are united in our wish to see him make a comfortable, speedy recovery,” the statement further read.
It has also been reported that Sir Ferguson, who looked lively and healthy during his recent public appearance last weekend, suffered a fall at his Cheadle, near Manchester and was rushed to hospital in an ambulance.
Following the announcement, current and former players, football clubs, Sir Ferguson’s friends and rivals on the pitch as well as football fans all united in supporting of the retired manager.
