Football star Mariga’s on-screen love with TV anchor Joey Muthengi – PHOTOS
Kenyan star footballer McDonald Mariga has renewed his association with sports betting firm Betin Kenya in a new marketing campaign that has roped in Citizen TV’s news anchor Joey Muthengi.
The two play the roles of husband and wife in Betin’s latest television advert
Muthengi was recently welcomed as Betin brand ambassador after signing a deal that reportedly earned her a six-figure amount. She replaces K24’s sports journalist Tony Kwalanda.

Mariga signed a reported Sh8 million yearlong deal with Betin in 2017 to feature in the firm’s adverts.
In Betin’s latest TV advert, Mariga and Muthengi play the roles of husband and wife. Mariga is continuously distracted by his phone even as Muthengi continuously begs for his attention.
Visibly disappointed, Muthengi grabs Mariga’s phone to have a look at what is distracting him, only to be met by news that he has won a Sh1,000,000 bet.

The commercial ends with the ‘couple’ locked in a tight embrace and Mariga cheekily winking at the camera.
The ‘couple’ has also been spotted on several billboards along the city.
