WATCH: Former Capital FM star reveals how his marriage collapsed due to infidelity

When he got a job as a communications director for Nakuru County in 2014, Eddy Kimani was focused and hoped for the best.

Little did he know that his hopes would be dashed by infidelity and stress which eventually led him at the age of 39, to go back home and live with his mother.

Mr Kimani, in his heydays, was a well-known and respected journalist who in his new revelation aired on Engage Talk says “for 15 years I enjoyed a good run in the media career.”

For starters, he worked as sports anchor for Capital FM, acted on popular TV shows and did award-winning commercials.

CAREER

“I had it all, fame, celebrity status and a career that I dreamt of, it is also in the 15 years that I also met my wife Nyambura and we were blessed with two kids,” Mr Kimani narrates.

According to him, it is the new appointment in Nakuru County that weighed down on him. First, the income was less than he was used to and he did not relocate with his family.

Therefore, while in Nakuru, he took a loan with the aim of putting up a business which was to supplement his income. It failed.

It became hard for him to survive with the loans and despite putting up a straight face, he reveals of “being thrown out of his rented apartment twice and his items being auctioned once.”

It is during that time that he engaged himself in infidelity and when his wife learnt about it, his marriage fell apart.

At that time, he to go back to his mother’s house.

“I told my mum that I failed, it was extremely painful and several times I wanted to let go but my mum stood by me,” he says.

FRIENDS FLED

This is after his friends fled, which was hard to accept at first but he later came to terms with that.

In 2017, after his run in the county came to an end, Mr Kimani moved to Diani, Mombasa.

It is at the Coast that he met Peter who owned a bakery and he describes their meeting as his “Damascus moment.”

It is Peter who prayed and kept on pushing him to go back home which he eventually did after his wife who she had never spoken for long asked him to attend a school meeting for their first born.

He now says that he is back at home and busy reconciling with his wife and family.
