Former Nation journalist Wanjohi Githae handed State House role

Former Nation writer Wanjohi Githae is among President William Ruto’s four appointees to the communication and messaging team.

Githae, who until recently was a political writer attached to the Nation Media Group, is the new Public Communications Director at the State House.

He’s also served as the United Democratic Alliance c(UDA) publicist.

Also appointed is Munyori Buku, who will serve as the Public Communications Secretary.

Mr Buku initially served as the Senior Director of Public Communication.

Meanwhile, David Nzioka was named Digital and Innovations Secretary. He’s previously served as the Directorate of Communication, Events, and Branding.

Nzioka’s department was under the Presidential Communications Service, formally known as Presidential Strategic Communication Unit before he was fired by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2020.

Dr Ruto also appointed Eric Ngeno as the Messaging Secretary and Speechwriter.

Ngeno was self-employed, serving as a partner, litigation research, and legal advisor at the Kipsang and Mutai’s advocates before this appointment.
