Former NMG journalist Njoki Chege makes media comeback
Former Director of the Innovation Center at the Aga Khan University, Dr Njoki Chege, has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kirk Media.
Dr Chege, who has been out of the mainstream media for four years, shared news of her appointment on social media.
“After a four-year break from the media industry, I am happy to share that I will be taking on a new and exciting role at Kirk TV Kenya. Looking forward to working with you all,” she wrote on her social media accounts.
Dr Chege will assume her new role beginning October 1, 2023, the organization that runs Kirk TV said.

In a statement, the company expressed confidence in Dr Chege’s leadership abilities.
“We are delighted to share a pivotal moment in the journey of Kirk TV. It is with great pleasure that we introduce our newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, Dr Njoki Chege, who will guide us into a future defined by inspiration, innovation, and impact,” the company said.
Kirk TV operates from Jitegemea House along Muhoho Avenue in Nairobi, Kenya.
At the Aga Khan University, Dr Chege oversaw the launch of the new media innovation center.

Before joining the Aga Khan University, Dr Chege she was the Editor, Lifestyle at the Nation Media Group (NMG). At the time, her role included commercial and strategic direction of Nation Lifestyle — an innovation project by NMG.
She worked for six years at NMG having previously worked at the Standard Media Group for three years.
Dr Chege, who also publishes a weekly column for the Sunday Nation, boasts of almost 10 years of experience in the media industry.
Dr Chege, who holds a PhD from Daystar University, has also taught journalism as an adjunct lecturer.
