Four thugs killed in Karen, AK 47 rifles recovered
Police officers on Tuesday night shot dead four suspected gangsters in Karen and recovered two AK 47 rifles loaded with 35 rounds of ammunition.
Police said they acted on a tip off and came across the group of five men near the Southern bypass. When the gang members were ordered to identify themselves, they instead started shooting at the officers and an exchange of gunfire ensured.
Police shot and killed four on the spot as one accomplice escaped with gunshot wounds.
Police believe the group were on a mission to commit a crime within Karen.
Those killed were between the ages of 30 and 38. Their bodies were taken to City Mortuary for autopsy and identification.
