Francis Gachuri quits Citizen TV after landing plum govt job
After many years of services as a political reporter, Francis Gachuri has announced his exit from Citizen TV.
In a telephone interview with Nairobi News on Wednesday, Mr Gachuri confirmed that he has indeed left the TV station.
However, Mr Gachuri fell short of mentioning his next move, amid speculations that he has landed plum government job.
His colleagues at Royal Media Services also confirmed to Nairobi News that Mr Gachuri announced his exit early on Wednesday morning.

According to his former colleagues, Mr Gachuri has been appointed Head of Communication in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mr Gachuru is a seasoned political reporter who was part of the TV station’s weekly political analysis show dubbed News Gang.
Mr Gachuri joined Royal Media Services back in 2007 and is leaving after 16 successful years.
In his farewell message to his colleagues, Mr Gachuri thanked his employer and colleagues for the opportunity and the support that they accorded him over the years.

“All my major milestones have happened while I was here. Now I have two families, my wife and kids and as well as the RMS family that includes my colleagues, our viewers, listeners and readers,” Mr Gachuri said.
In his new posting, Mr Gachuri will now serve under the Cabinet Secretary for Interior Prof Kithure Kindiki.
The position has been vacant for a while now, according to the sources within the ministry.
Mr Gachuri fluently reported for both Kiswahili and English news and covered key political events during his time at Royal Media Services.
