French perfume company launches new product in Kenya

A French perfume and cosmetics house, has launched a new fragrance in Nairobi called Mon Guerlain targeting the sensual woman.

The perfume whose scent’s muse and face is inspired by US actress Angelina Jolie will be sold at Madora shops in Nairobi exclusively for the next two months before other outlets start stocking it.

Madora has three shops in Nairobi selling designer perfumes ranging from Bvlgari, Davidoff, Calvin Klein, Gucci and Armani.

Most Guerlain scents share vanilla, lavender, jasmine, sandalwood and rose notes that have become favourites of many women globally.

Baptiste Vesin, Guerlain manager in Kenya said “If you smell the fragrance it is mild and not very harsh that it breaks your own identity, it also puts you in a good mood, but the problem with such a perfume is that it is extremely addictive.”

“We know every last detail about our jasmine, sandalwood, lavender and our vanilla, because we buy our raw materials from men and women we have met and whom over time we have come to know them closely,” said Mr Vesin during the launch of Mon Guerlain.

Over the last 10 years, the perfumery market has grown attracting shops such as Madora and improvement from other retailers like Lintons, Fragrance Lounge and Petals among others.
