By NAIROBI NEWS January 13th, 2014 1 min read

Governor Evans Kidero obtained an order on Monday stopping Director of Public Prosecution from arresting and charging him, moments after another Judge had allowed Prosecution to proceed with the charges.

High Court Judge Justice Weldon Korir suspended Governor Kidero’s prosecution until January 16 when the case will come up for interparty hearing.

Moments earlier, Justice Isaac Lenaola had permitted Director of Public Prosecution Keriako Tobiko to proceed with the charges againstĀ  Governor Kidero and Women Representative Rachel Shebesh. (READ: http://nairobinews.nation.co.ke/kidero-shebesh-to-face-charges-after-talks-fail/)

This was after the two politicians had failed to agree on a out of court settlement.

Lawyer Cecil Miller, representing Ms Shebesh, had told Judge Lenaola that they had waited in vain for Mr Kidero to meet the terms for reconciliation.

Mr Miller said Ms Shebesh is ready to face the charges.
