Fuel tax: KOT tweet their MPs to vote ‘Nay’ on Thursday

By EVELYNE MUSAMBI September 19th, 2018 1 min read

Kenyans on Twitter have started writing to their MPs urging them to vote against proposed amendments to the Finance Bill, 2008 on Thursday.

The campaign to reach out to MP was kicked off on Wednesday by Nasa leader Raila Odinga’s son Raila Junior who communicated his reservations to Kibra MP Ken Okoth.

Junior urged Twitter users to make it known to their respective MPs that they are against any introduction of VAT on petroleum products, however small the percentage.

A day earlier, Raila Junior had publicly differed with his father after the latter chaired a Nasa parliamentary group meeting and resolved to support the 8 per cent VAT.
