Gang attacks and rapes city lawyer

A city lawyer is recuperating at the Nairobi Women Hospital following an ordeal in the hands of rapists on Monday night.

A male colleague she was with at the time was robbed of Sh1.2 million in the attack that occurred in Lang’ata.

Nairobi county police commander Benson Kibue said that both advocates were partners at a firm in the CBD and that the female victim was being dropped at her residence in Dam 2 estate by her colleague when they were attacked.

Coming back

The four armed men took control of their vehicle, a Subaru Forester, and drove with them towards the Southern bypass where two of the attackers were left with the victims and the two others drove away in the male victim’s car, coming back after about two hours.

During that time the other attackers raped the female advocate, while her colleague was robbed of Sh100,000, sterling pounds 8000, USD 50, an air ticket, mobile phones and an ATM card.

Mr Kibue also said that the two gunmen who left also went and withdrew cash from the victims’ account.

“The male victim was supposed to travel abroad and we suspect the information leaked to the criminals. We are, however, investigating the incident,” said Mr Kibue.

The attack comes at a time when Nairobi residents have been complaining that insecurity is on the increase.
