Gattuso: K’Ogalo didn’t vandalize Dar Stadium

Gor Mahia midfielder Collins “Gattuso” Okoth has defended the club in the wake of media reports that some players vandalized property at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Friday.

The Kenyan Premier League champions, who are competing in the Cecafa Club Championship in Tanzania, are accused of pulling down a door at the 60,000 facility, moments after the team’s 1-1 draw with Al Khartoum on Friday afternoon.

The club is reported to have been issued with a warning letter from the tournament organisers for the incident.

VANDALIZED PROPERTY

But Okoth, who made his debut in this tournament against the Sudanese side, has refuted claims that the players intentionally vandalized property at the facility.

“The changing rooms were locked when we finished playing (Al Khartoum), one of our security guys tried to push it and it broke but that wasn’t by any means intentional,” Okoth said via Facebook.

The Kenya international also defended the club coach Frank Nuttall following reports that he gestured in an insulting way towards match officials and the fans during an earlier match his team and home team Yanga SC.
