GenZ online addiction: Zombie with Wi-Fi but paralyzed without it

Back in our day, millennials, yes, the ’90s babies, we cherished certain things like they were the rarest gems. We’d spend hours running, jumping, and soaking up the sun. You know, those good old days when the great outdoors were our best friends. But hold onto your hats, because GenZ is here to give you a run for your avocado toast!

GenZ, the true digital natives, they’ve got a different love language – Wi-Fi. Oh, the horror they face when Wi-Fi goes poof even for a nanosecond. It’s like their lifeline to the digital universe got severed.

Wi-Fi to GenZ is like air to humans; without it, they can’t breathe, metaphorically speaking. FOMO, they call it – the Fear of Missing Out. It haunts their dreams, keeps them up at night, and makes them scream, “Reconnect me, please!”

You’ll find them at work, silently insisting on Wi-Fi, even if their job is as remote as a desert island. Social gatherings are like Wi-Fi safaris, where they’re physically present but mentally miles away. Picture a room filled with zombies, all scrolling and tapping away.

They’re so obsessed with their digital lives that they’d squeeze into a shoebox if it promised a Wi-Fi signal. Norah, a journalist, says she’d do anything to stay updated and connected with her online clan. It’s her lifeline, her comfort blanket, her digital pulse.

Late at night, you’ll see them huddled outside, trying to catch the last rays of Wi-Fi in educational institutions. The cold never bothered them anyway (apologies to Elsa). They don’t even need a reason to be online; the mere sensation of being connected is enough to light up their souls.

John sums it up perfectly. He’d rather have his stomach growl with hunger than go without his precious network. Wi-Fi is their playground, their mecca, their favorite pastime. Other recreational activities are simply out of the picture.

While millennials were out conquering the jungle gyms, GenZ is busy conquering the digital realm. It’s like the new era has traded sneakers for emojis, and we’re just here for the ride. Don’t worry, GenZ, you can have the Wi-Fi; we’ll be over here doing some…uh, physical stuff. 😉
