Gor Mahia courting Sharks winger Ovella Ochieng

Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia have confirmed interest in securing the services of Kariobangi Sharks winger Ovella Ochieng.

Ochieng has six months left on his contract with his club and is allowed by law to negotiate an exit with suitors without necessarily informing his club.

He can however only leave the club for free when his contract lapses.

Gor Mahia’s chief executive Lordvic Aduda confirmed this interest in an interview with Nairobi News, stating; “He is a good player capable of improving our attack and we are looking at him because our technical bench also likes him. There are chances we could approach him next week.”

CONTRACT  NEGOTIATIONS

A move to K’Ogalo could represent a fresh start for the 19-year old, who has been called up for national team duty ahead of the forthcoming international friendlies against Swaziland and Equatorial Guinea looks.

Ovella fell out with Sharks’ management at the start of this season after talks aimed at renewing his contract broke down.

He was consequently banished to train with the reserves and failed to make competitive appearances for two months.

Gor Mahia meanwhile, are seeking to strengthen their attack, which specifically has been goal shy in continental assignments and Ovella seemingly fits the bill.
