Gor draw Madagascar opposition, Sofapaka up against Zimbabwe side

Confederation of African Football (Caf) has presented Gor Mahia with a Valentine Day’s date against Madagascar club CNaPS (Caisse Nationale de Prévoyance Sociale Sport) in next year’s preliminary phase of the African Champions League .

The Kenyan Premier League champions will host the islanders in the first leg match of the competition on February 14, with the return leg match slated for the Stade Municipal de Toamasina in Miarinarivo a fortnight later.

The little known islanders based club are the three-time champions of the Madagascar league.

In other standout fixtures from the draw held in Cairo on Monday morning, Tanzanian giants Azam will face off with Allan Wanga’s Sudan club El Merreikh.

The other Kenyan club in continental engagements, Sofapaka FC, will host Zimbabwe’s Platinum FC in the opening phase of the Caf Confederations Cup.

The first leg matches will be contested on the weekend of February 13, 14, 15 with the return dates scheduled for 27, 28 February and March 1.
