How Tuyisenge spread Gor Mahia love in the US – PHOTOS
Fresh from sealing the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) title with six matches to spare, Gor Mahia striker Jacques Tuyisenge recently took some time off his active career to spread the love of the club at his brother’s wedding in the United States of America.
The Rwandan forward connected to Texas in the United States from Algeria after their Caf Confederation Cup group stage match against USM Alger on August 29.
He missed the team’s SportPesa Shield quarterfinal match against Kariobangi Sharks on September 2 in which they were knocked out 4-2 on post-match shootouts after a goalless draw in the regulation time.
His main mission in America was not only to witness his elder brother Eric Musirikare wed his lovely fiancée Tuyisenge Aline on Saturday.
But while there he presented the club’s replica jerseys to members of his family in appreciation of their support ever since he moved to the Kenyan champions in February 2016 from Rwandan side Police for a record Sh4 million transfer fee.
“They love Gor Mahia so much that they asked me to come along with Gor Mahia jerseys with my name on the back,” Tuyisenge told Nairobi News after jetting back into the country on Tuesday.
He added: “I’ve enjoyed my one week stay in the US with my family and I wish my brother the very best in his marriage.”
Tuyisenge’s season is not done yet as he is chasing the golden boot. He is currently second on the leagues goal scorers’ chart with 13 goals, two shy of leading scorer Elvis Rupia.
Rupia, who previously turned out for Nzoia Sugar, however moved to Zambian side Power Dynamos in June.
