Government offers to pay Mzee Ojwang’s medical bill
The government has offered to pay the medical bill of veteran actor Benson Wanjau, popularly known as Mzee Ojwang’ Hatari, who is battling partial blindness and depression.
Deputy President William Ruto made the announcement on his Twitter account on Friday.
“The Government will pay the medical bill for Mzee Ojwang. We wish him a quick recovery,” Mr Ruto tweeted.
Mzee Ojwang’, who rose to through the television series Vitimbi, was on Wednesday taken to Lions SightFirst Eye Hospital in Loresho to treat his failing eyesight.
Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, whose Sonko Rescue Team took the actor to the hospital, said Mzee Ojwang was suffering from partial blindness.
