Grand reception laid out for Diamond after awards sweep

Top-of-the-range vehicles and more than 10 buses have been lined up in Dar es Salaam to transport fans from different parts of the city to the Julius Nyerere international Airport to receive Channel O award winner Diamond Platinumz.

Diamond, real name Naseeb Abdul, bagged three awards in the Most Gifted Newcomer, Most Gifted Afro-Pop and Most Gifted East African categories, beating several big African acts.

HOMECOMING

The homecoming ceremony has been organized by his top managers Babu Tale, Mkubwa Fella and Sallam Sharaff, who confirmed the reports to Nairobi News.

Other than the buses, top-of-the-range vehicles, including limousines, have also been hired to welcome the musician.

He was meant to jet back to Dar on Monday, but had to change his flight to Tuesday.

While in Johannesburg where the awards ceremony was held, Diamond shot a video for a collabo he has done with Nigerian duo Bracket.

The plane carrying Diamond is expected to touch down in Dar at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, East African time.
