Why Harmonize broke down on stage at Koroga Festival – VIDEO
Tanzanian artiste, Rajab Abdul Kahali, better known as Harmonize, on Sunday shocked his fans when he broke down while performing at the 23rd edition of the Koroga Festival at the Two Rivers Mall, Nairobi.
While singing his hit song Matatizo, the Bongo flava musician, songwriter and dancer narrated to his audience how he grew up in poverty sleeping in the same room with his parents and baby sister.
“I have come from a humble background and I remember we used to sleep in the same room with my sibling and parents in Kariakor, Dar es Salaam,” said a tearful Harmonize.
The Wasafi signed singer, has a reputation of staging sideshows and stunts to pull in the crowds, but on Sunday that did not feel like a stunt.
‘KWANGWARU’
His performance had to be stopped for several minutes as he composed himself.
During his set, Nigerian producer and artiste Krizbeatz made a surprise appearance, joining him on stage for their track 911 which he produced and featured Yemi Alade.
Kenya’s Blinky Bill was the first act at the festival before South Africa’s Big Nuz brought the house down with their performances as the main act.
Due to public demand, Harmonize had to perform his hit track Kwangwaru – a collaboration with Diamond Platnumz – several times to his fans’ delight.
