The worst English compositions in last year’s KCPE exams
The two worst English compositions in the 2014 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education examination can be revealed.
The poorest composition, which Nairobi News has decided to reproduce in its entirety as part of a campaign to rid Kenyan schools of mediocrity, is simply that –mediocre.
The writer had no clue on what he or she was expected to write.
The candidate simply rehashed the examiner’s intro, embarrassingly interchanging the words all through. The candidate who wrote the composition managed just four marks.

In the second poorest, the candidate had a hint of what was expected but lack command for grammar let the candidate down.
The composition is littered with grammatical errors, incoherence, poor sentence structure, misspellings and every bad things that can be associated with grammatical mistakes.
