Here’s Jacque Maribe’s answer after Itumbi asked if he’ll be on her bridal party
Citizen TV anchor Jacque Maribe had a cheeky answer to State House Digital Director Dennis Itumbi when he asked whether he will be part of her bridal party.
Maribe got engaged to her boyfriend Jowie Jowi on Saturday during a surprise bash.
She had been heavily linked to Itumbi after a photo of them kissing outside a club went viral on social media.
At some point, Itumbi delivered a birthday cake to Maribe during a live broadcast at Citizen TV offices, further feeding into the rumours that they were dating.
The Nairobi News would later learn that Itumbi was at Citizen recording a show which coincided with Maribe’s birthday and a cheeky producer decided to ride on the rumours.
INTERNET WENT BERSERK
So when Maribe’s engagement to a man who was not Itumbi, internet went berserk.
People commented on Maribe’s pictures, some tagging the digital director with trolling comments such as: “Cha muhimu ni uhai.”
But Itumbi shrugged off the trolls instead choosing to offer his congratulations.
“May Laughter fill your path. May you Live to enjoy life and share the beauty of your love with @jowie.jowi. Congratulations buddy!” he wrote
Maribe brought up the issue in a response to Itumbi: “Thanks Dennis. I hear you are allegedly serving pilau soon and that you were allegedly linked to me.”
‘LINE UP’
Itumbi asked: “@jacquemaribe am telling you. Niko kwa Line-up au sio?”
But the anchor made it clear that the decision on who will be on the men’s line up was up to her fiancé.
She responded: “Ebu we ask @jowie.jowi at this rate but seriously when will this joke that we were apparently a couple ever end?”
Finally, Itumbi wrote: When people create their own Facts, believe them and keep a story going, so convinced about our alleged love and now its end…you just smile and live on. Now the current narrative is that you dumped me…if that is what it takes for people to let go the false hype. So be it. Let’s accept you dumped me buddy. Now, let’s do justice to the moment. Congratulations my Friend. It is about you. Congrats. I salute!”
