Here’s the fake William Ruto tweet that made Siaya MCA strip
A county representative yesterday fell for a social media spoof and stripped naked to protest what he said were disparaging remarks against ODM leader Raila Odinga.
A fake Twitter page, @WilliamRutoh, attributed to Deputy President William Ruto, criticised youth in Mr Odinga’s Kibera stronghold who burnt National Youth Service projects on Monday night.
“Let them go back to the flying toilets, You cannot stop a fly from following a corpse to the grave,” says the tweet.
Mr Ruto’s verified Twitter account is @WilliamSRuto.
The tweet so incensed Central Gem representative Fred Ouda that he called a press conference in Siaya. However, he astounded journalists when he stripped naked before addressing them.

“Mr Ruto insulted Kibera residents in a clear attack against Cord leader Raila Odinga by insinuating that Raila was politically dead,” said Mr Ouda.
Mr Ouda issued a two-week ultimatum to Mr Ruto to apologise to Kibera residents and the country or “face the wrath of the majority of Kenyans”.
The MCA’s actions astonished journalists who had turned out for the press conference in Siaya town.
The journalists watched in disbelief as the MCA systematically undressed before addressing the media at the Siaya County assembly offices.
Mr Ouda stated that the Twitter remarks did no augur well with the Kibera Residents who are direct beneficiaries of these projects.
