How Nana Owiti feared her hubby, King Kaka, would die due to ill health

Television host and influencer Nana Owiti, the wife to Kenyan rapper King Kaka, born Kennedy Ombima, took to social media on October 16, 2022, to reveal how she almost lost her husband when he suffered ill health between late 2021 and early 2022.

In the post, she narrated how she held on to prayer to get her family through the tough season; and how her favorite pastor and his wife stood with their family.

“I will be honest. Ever since King got sick and was healed, I had a spiritual awakening. It felt confusing. As a family, we were shaken right as it was happening and we only had one place to run and that was to God! I can’t count the number of times I called my favorite passie (pastor), Pastor Njoro, just to pray with me over the phone. The number of times I would just call him to say I didn’t have the strength any more and my husband was slipping away.”

“The number of times he (the pastor) and his wife would rush home even at night to pray with us (God! My kids were confused especially when they would see me cry). May I never forget how badly I needed God’s touch. I still do. I’m not perfect, in fact, far from it but my relationship with God is always 100. Also, I made a vow that my kids would know who God is. They would know Him not only as a healer but a restorer of life,” said Nana.

In January 2022, King Kaka took to social media to reveal he had been given 30 days to live after being hospitalized for over four months.

“Xray showing niko na cavity kwa my 2 lungs bado walinipa 30days niishi (X-rays showed I had cavities in my lungs and they gave me 30 days to live), that was 4 months ago,” King Kaka wrote on Instagram.

He also shared that within three months, he lost 33 kilograms after being misdiagnosed severally for an illness he is yet to disclose.

“Now I was being trained on how to eat; imagine it was that bad. I would take a spoon full of food and chew it for close to 30 minutes because I feel like puking, and I was learning how to eat,” added King Kaka.

He eventually went on to get the correct diagnosis and recovered fully.
