How two suspected gangsters met their death in Kayole
Two suspected robbers were on Tuesday night shot dead in Kangure slums in Kayole, Nairobi County. The police however said two other suspects escaped with gunshot wounds during the incident.
According to the police, officers on patrol in Kosovo area were informed by members of the public that some four middle-aged men were on a stealing spree.
“They informed the officers that they had been robbed by a gang. It is then that the police pursued the suspects whom they eventually cornered,” the police said in a report.
The four defied police orders to surrender and instead started shooting at the officers who in return responded killing two on the spot.
The other two fled the scene where their colleagues met their death and escaped into a nearby slum.
The police are now asking members of the public to share any information that may lead to their arrest.
At the scene of crime, police officers recovered a mini-pistol (ECO Tuna serial number ET 12420903), an empty magazine and a homemade pistol capable of firing.
The officers also recovered a maasai sword and four mobile phones from the slain suspects.
Moments after the two were shot dead officers from the crime department visited and processed the scene before the bodies were ferried to the City Mortuary.
The fatal shooting of the two took place just two days after two suspects of robbery with violence suspects were shot dead by officers in Hurlingham, Nairobi County.
Police said the two were gunned down around Shujaa area. A Ceska pistol loaded with two rounds of ammunition was recovered from the slain suspects.
