Why I’m in no rush to fall in love again: Lilian Muli

Citizen TV anchor Lilian Muli has opened up on her divorce and her decision to stay single in an emotional post on Instagram

In the post, Ms Muli, who has filed for divorce from her husband of seven years Moses Njuguna Kanene, acknowledged to the difficulties of breakups.

She also reckoned that most people often opt to stay in toxic relationships than getting out and starting all over again.

‘UNFULFILLING RELATIONSHIPS’

“We stay in unfulfilling relationships because we are petrified of being alone. Breakups are hard because no one wants to start all over again. The worst pain though is to be in a relationship that makes you feel lonelier than you felt when you were single. My alone feels so good I’ll only have you if you’re sweeter than my solitude.”

In her divorce papers, Ms Muli cited “adultery, cruelty and desertion” as reasons for the divorce.

The affidavit was filed at the Chief Magistrate’s court at Milimani in Nairobi on January 7, 2016.
