Imposter killed, two injured in South B drama

A man was killed and his two accomplices seriously injured  in South B on Wednesday evening as they tried to swindle a business woman.

The men, who posed as pastors, are said to have approached the business woman at the shopping centre and asked her to give them Sh 10,000 with the promise of doubling the amount through ‘miracles’.

The woman asked them to wait as she consulted her friends.

Other traders in the area soon heard of the ploy and confronted the three.

“The traders gave them a test. They told them to remove money from their own pockets and double it first before they could double the business woman’s money,” Makadara OCPD, Thomas Atuti said.

“When the miracle failed the happen, the crowd set on them. One of them died on the spot, while the other two were saved by police and taken to hospital in critical condition” Mr Atuti said.

And in Dagoretti, members of the public lynched a suspected criminal at the Gado Shopping Centre.

The man, according to Nairobi County Police Commandant Benson Kibui, has been arrested severally for multiple criminal activities but released on bail.

“The man was beaten by the public after they spotted him at the shopping Centre after he went underground for several days” he said.
