Family affair for Passaris during swearing in
For Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris Thursday’s swearing in came with an extra special touch in the form of her parents who attended the ceremony in Parliament.
An elated Ms Passaris shared a photo of herself, sandwiched by her proud parents as they smiled for the cameras.
She was born Esther Muthoni Rossana Passaris to a Greek father and Kenyan mother.
Her parents witnessed their daughter finally becoming an elected legislator after vying and failing on two previous occasions.
I took my Oath of Office today, cognizant of and grateful for the incredible love and support that has brought me this far. #MPsSwear pic.twitter.com/iYSAyalUja

The businesswoman and founder of Adopt a Light initiative has in the past lost her bid to become Embakasi MP (2007) and Nairobi Woman Representative (2013).
Through a tweet, Ms Passaris thanked her parents for the support and her campaign team for running a successful campaign.
She also thanked all voters for believing in her and “Baba (Raila Odinga) whom I pray soon will take oath of office.”
