Ivy Chelimo responds after being invited to dinner by DP Rigathi Gachagua

On Sunday, October 2, 2022, Kenya’s Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua issued a dinner invite to the young lady who coined his trending nickname, Riggy G.

Speaking during the live interview with Citizen TV, Gachagua said he had tasked his sons with finding the young lady and bringing her to dinner.

“The young lady who decided that Rigathi Gachagua is a little bit difficult and not melodious, we need to give him Riggy G.

To encourage our young people, I took up the name. I have told my sons to look for that girl to come we have dinner,” said DP Gachagua.

Taking to her Twitter account, Ivy Chelimo, the lady credited with coining the name reacted in joy, saying that it was all God’s doing.

“Who is God? Ya’ll I’ve cried today,” she updated.

In other updates, she revealed that her best friend’s reactions to the mention and invite still had her crying.

“I have shed tears but never like tonight. Waaah, God really saw and heard me,” added Chelimo.

A content creator, she goes by the moniker, Shawty for nicknames on Twitter. She was the first person to tweet the name Riggy G on July 19, 2022, at 9:11 PM. many celebrated her for earning recognition from the DP.

“You’re getting a job in government. Youth ministry or a department. Go there with a proposal. Be ready when he asks you what can I do for you. Don’t ask for money, ask for an opportunity!” one of her followers advised her.

“Your creativity got you there! Well done! Now make that impact. All the best dear,” wrote Mwalimu Rachel.

“God’s time. No matter the circumstance” wrote another of her followers.
“God just called you by your name. It’s your turn, God bless you,” added KenKyash2.

“Shawty for nicknames, start coming up with a good business plan or a strategy to get you out of struggles. Riggy G will elevate you to a place of success, happy for you,” wrote another of her followers.
