Jackie Matubia reveals low-key Christmas plans, reflects on her 2023

Popular actress Jackie Matubia has opened up about her Christmas plans, emphasising the importance of family during the festive season.

In an exclusive interview with Nairobi News, the mother of two revealed that she would be spending Christmas at home with her parents and her two daughters.

“We have nothing much for our Christmas, just me and family to be with my parents,” Matubia shared, highlighting the simplicity and joy of celebrating the holiday surrounded by loved ones.

Reflecting on the year that’s drawing to a close, Matubia expressed pride in the wins she achieved both in her private and public life.

“Some wins I have achieved in my private life, while others in my public life. I am so proud of myself. When I look back in January, if someone told me I would be here, I think I would not have agreed. I always remember who I am and why I do it and who I do it for,” she said.

The Salem actress candidly discussed the challenges she faced in 2023, including heartbreak and her journey to singlehood after parting ways with her baby daddy, Blessing Lung’aho.

Matubia revealed, “Got heartbroken, cried alone, lost weight, partied hard, traveled, and spent quality time with family.”

Additionally, she has also acknowledged the rift with her best friend, Milly Chebby, and clarified her absence at Milly’s wedding.

Despite the ups and downs, Matubia left fans speculating about a newfound love after sharing a video enjoying cosy moments with a mystery man.

During the interview, she addressed rumors about her alleged relationship with Bahati’s event planner, Maurice, stating,

“He is a good friend of mine, and he got people that he is dating. I am just going with the flow. Social media in-laws have given me him.”

Matubia expressed pride in the fact that her victories surpassed her setbacks in 2023.
