Jacque Maribe named Head of Communication in Moses Kuria’s Ministry

Former TV presenter Jacque Maribe has been named the Head of Communication in the Ministry of Public Service Performance and Delivery Management, headed by Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria.

The appointment follows her recent acquittal in the prolonged Monica Kimani murder case, which spanned nearly six years.

Digital strategist Dennis Itumbi, who stood by Maribe during her legal ordeal, was among the first people to congratulate her.

“Congratulations, Jacque Maribe. May God bless you as you serve. Thank you, @HonMoses_Kuria, for standing with a generation. Please continue to do good and extend your hand,” he expressed.

Maribe was acquitted on February 9, 2024, by Justice Grace Nzioka of the Milimani Law Courts.

According to Justice Nzioka, the charge brought against Maribe lacked evidence.

“It is my considered view that the charge brought against the second accused person was not the proper charge… the prosecution did not adduce enough evidence for this court to find the second accused person guilty of the offense of murder of Monica Nyawira Kimani on the night of September 19, 2018,” Jacque Maribe, said.

Maribe’s started her career in the media at K24 TV in 2009, following her graduation from the University of Nairobi.

Thereafter, she honed her skills as a political affairs reporter at Kiss TV between 2011 and 2012 before transitioning to Citizen TV, where she truly made her mark.

At Citizen TV, Maribe’s star continued to rise as she took on the role of the anchor for the Friday 9 pm bulletin, alongside Waihiga Mwaura who now works for the BBC.

She also served as a senior political reporter, covering critical events and shaping public discourse on national affairs.

As the Head of Communication Maribe will play a crucial role in shaping the public perception of the ministry, facilitating transparency and accountability, and promoting effective communication both internally and externally.
