Janet Kanini’ husband pens emotional tribute to cancer warrior

Former NTV host Janet Kanini Ikua’s husband has broken his silence on the death of his wife.

Mr George Ikua took to Facebook on Saturday where he penned an emotional tribute to his wife and mother of two children.

He wrote: “Goodbye Love,” accompanied by the lyrics of the Good People hit song by Jussie Smollet and Yazz.

Mr Ikua quoted the song’s entire lyrics: “But we’ll get by, We’ll see the light, In the morning, It’s gonna be alright, The circumstance, Is in the plan, Even if we don’t fully understand, Why the bad things happen to the good people.”

His post has been shared over 100 times and attracted over 800 comments.

The father of two had been his wife’s caregiver since she was diagnosed with lung cancer in September 2015.

In February 2016, Mrs Ikua announced that she was cancer free and launched a foundation to support cancer patients.

The former TV host passed away on Saturday morning.
