Janet Mbugua responds to pregnancy rumours, clarifies her status
Media Personality and Gender Equality advocate Janet Mbugua has addressed persistent rumours that she is pregnant.
Janet has clarified that her recent pictures showing a slightly bulging belly are not indicative of an imminent addition to her family.
In a recent social media post, the mum-of-two explained that the appearance of her torse was the result of indulging in good food and not a sign of pregnancy.
Eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed what appeared to be a bulging bump, leading to a flurry of congratulatory messages and speculation.
A “congratulations” comment from a fan identified as Jedidah_Ashah prompted Janet’s response.
In her reply, Janet humorously said: “No, I’m not pregnant.
Adding, “I probably didn’t breathe on the count of three, but ni sawa. The results of the gym will show one day,” accompanied by a smiley face.
Janet also confirmed her single status and dismissed any speculation of an imminent pregnancy.
In response to another comment that highlighted her single status, Janet agreed with the Instagram user.
The fan, Sallie klaus_01, mentioned, “Why have I zoomed and I know really you are single so there cannot be a baby,” to which Janet responded with a laugh, “Hapo kwa ‘I know you are single’, aki mbona umeshout.”
The rumours started circulating after the former newsreader shared two stunning pictures of herself wearing a black figure-hugging dress with sheer detail at the torso, complemented by an elegant satin cover-up.
According to reports, the media personality has filed for divorce from her husband, Eddie Ndichu.
The former couple, who have two children together, are currently in court.
Janet Mbugua and Eddie Ndichu exchanged vows in a whirlwind wedding ceremony at Chaka Ranch in Nyeri County in 2015.
After reportedly separating a few years ago, their once-celebrated journey together is now being legally dissolved.
