Jaymo Ule Msee: Selling hyenas’ balls was figurative speech, it costed us votes
Roots Party Spokesperson Wilson Muirani (Jaymo Ule Msee) has now set the record clear on some of the issues that were captured in the party’s campaigns.
The party’s presidential flagbearer in the concluded election Prof George Wajackoyah had said that if Kenyans voted him as their next president, he would initiate harvesting of hyenas’ testicles for export to China as a way of bring down the country’s debt.
Though the idea was not captured in the party’s manifesto, Prof Wajackoyah on several occasions sold the agenda while on the campaign trail.
But on Wednesday, while appearing for in an interview on Spice FM, Jaymo said there was no way that his party leader would embark on killing hyenas for their testicles.
The content creator explained that it was merely a figurative speech, which Prof Wajackoyah used in pointing out that the Chinese are consuming almost everything, hence, the need to explore ways of exporting more products to them in order to settle the debts.

Jaymo: How Wajackoyah won the Kenyan election
“It was a figure of speech in terms of the Chinese people having sold a lot of things to us, good and bad, and they have made money out of that and we are in debt because of that. His point was that we can literally sell anything to those people since they consume everything,” Jaymo said.
Jaymo further said that as much as the statement was made with the intention to grab the attention of Kenyans, it backfired and cost them votes.
“It wasn’t worth a mention. It’s a point that could have been ignored in the campaigns. It added no value as much as it probably trended and it was in everyone’s tongue, but it didn’t add any value. In any case, it did more harm than damage to us in terms of being taken seriously,” Jaymo said.
He also said that such remarks might have had a negative impact to their votes. Prof Wajackoyah finished a distant third with 69,949 votes behind William Ruto, who was declared the winner with 7.1 million votes, and Raila Odinga who garnered 6.9 million votes.
