Jeff, Larry scooped on Obama interview

NTV’s Larry Madowo and KTN’s Jeff Koinange will donate Sh120,000 jointly as neither will get a chance to interview US President Barack Obama as anticipated.

According to the President Obama’s schedule seen by Nairobi News the only local media slotted in is Capital Fm.

The schedule that was shared by the US Embassy shows that the station will have an interview with the President at 3:05pm Sunday at the YALI Regional Leadership Centre in Nairobi after a conversation with civil society leaders that he will meet at the same venue.

Jeff and Larry had bet on air during a show that whoever gets to interview President Obama would receive Sh100,000 from the other.

CHARITY DONATION

They added that if neither of them got the rare opportunity they would add Sh20,000 to the amount jointly and donate it to a charity of their choice.

The bet came as a result of an initial one where whoever managed 500,000 followers on Twitter before the other would receive Sh20,000.

Jeff won that bet and was given the amount by Larry on air and he announced he would donate it to charity.

Jeff, an internationally renowned award winning journalist, host the Jeff Koinange Live show twice a week on KTN while Larry host The Trend on NTV every Friday night.

All eyes will be on the two come Sunday to see if they keep their word and jointly make the donation.
