Jilted man breaks into wife’s shop and steals Sh 50,000
A jilted man who allegedly broke into his ex-wife’s shop and stole Sh50, 000 was charged with burglary and theft contrary to section 304 (1) as read with section 304 (2) of the penal code.
Cyprian Muema is accused of breaking and entering into Judy Mokeira’s dwelling house in Mukuru kwa Reuben slums in Nairobi where he allegedly stole the cash on November 17 this year.

Mr. Muema is also facing charges of malicious damage to property contrary to section 339 (1) as read with section 339 (2) after he allegedly willfully and unlawfully broke a plastic basin worth Sh500.
He was also charged with threatening to kill Ms. Mokeira after he allegedly sent her unprintable insults in a text message on his mobile phone where he also threatened to kill her.
He is accused of issuing death threats through a mobile phone on November 11 without a lawful excuse in contravention of section 223 of the penal code.

The accused person allegedly assaulted the complainant and she made a report at the kwa Reuben police station on November 17.
On her way back from the station, Ms. Mokeira noticed that her ex-husband and a group of men were following her shouting that they would kill her. She reportedly took cover at her neighbour’s house.
Mr. Muema and the group of about four men proceeded to Ms. Mokeira’s shop where they broke in.

Ms. Mokeira later visited the shop that doubles up as her dwelling house and found the money had been stolen and items broken.
She returned to the police station to launch a complaint against Muema. Police officers visited the scene and Mr. Muema was later arrested after investigations.
The accused person denied the charges before Principal Magistrate Gathogo Sogomo of Makadara Law Courts.
In the charges of threatening to kill, Mr. Muema was released on a cash bail of Sh30, 000 while in the burglary case he was freed on a bond of Sh50, 000. Both cases will be mentioned on February 2 next year.
