Joho grants Leopards free access to Uwanja wa Mbuzi grounds
Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho on Friday welcomed AFC Leopards to train at the newly built Uwanja wa Mbuzi stadium for free.
The popular SportPesa Premier League club have been camping in Mombasa for the past week, ahead of Saturday’s league match against Bandari at the Mbaraki grounds.
“We intend to host more events in our stadiums in the coming days as part of exposing our upcoming players to higher levels,” said Joho, who attended the function whilst donning a replica Leopards’ jersey.

The Governor also contributed Sh200,000 to the club with about half of the amount to cater for the club’s accommodation expenditure during the coastal trip. The remaining amount was shared by the players.

“This is a welcome initiative because the club spends so much in hiring training grounds, monies that could be channeled towards other initiatives,” club treasurer, Oliver Napali, told Nairobi News.
The 1600-seater stadium was constructed by the County government of Mombasa and launched by opposition leader Raila Odinga.
